BALLET CONSERVATORY OF SADDLEBACK VALLEY GUILD

The Guild is a non-profit organization serving the students and families of The Ballet Conservatory. Under the guidance of Maryann Bayless, our Artistic Director, we strive to enhance the dancing experience of the Ballet Conservatory students and to support the efforts of the Ballet Conservatory Director, Staff & Instructors.

Through generous donations, fund-raisers such as our Encore and Ballet Conservatory apparel sales, and the sale of boutique items and flowers at performances, the Guild has been able to offer student scholarships to summer dance programs and to host special events for students and their families.

The Guild provides scholarship money to students qualified to attend Ballet Company-affiliated schools for their summer programs. Participation in these summer programs broaden the dancers’ perspective, and thus helps them grow as dancers. Our students have auditioned for and been accepted to schools such as: Alvin Alley Dance Theatre, American Academy of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Burklyn Ballet Theatre in Vermont, The Boston Ballet, Kirov Academy, Milwaukee Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Virginia School of the Arts, and Santa Barbara Ballet.

Special events hosted by the Guild for students of all ages and their families have included: Masquerade Party, Holiday Party and Ice Cream Social. The Guild has also offered discount tickets to artistic performances such as The Nutcracker. For those students promoted to Pointe, the Guild provides members with a gift certificate to Hills Dancewear toward the purchase of a pair of Pointe shoes.

There are many opportunities for parent/family involvement in the Guild. Perhaps most importantly, at the Gala Spring Performance, Guild volunteers help with costume enhancement, flower, boutique, video and ticket sales, lobby design, raffles, refreshments, ushering and other theater services.
